Years of Growth and Prosperity of the “14. Oktobar” Factory from Kruševac

In 2017, the “14. Oktobar” factory became part of the Czech company “Czechoslovak Group” (CSG), marking the beginning of a new phase of global expansion and modernization. Through continuous investments in equipment, revitalization of production facilities, and workforce development, the factory has been able to meet the most demanding challenges of modern industry, says General Director Petar Miljković.

What were the key challenges during the integration of the “14. Oktobar” factory into the “Czechoslovak Group”?

The integration of the “14. Oktobar” factory into CSG began in 2017, when we started aligning production processes with high international standards and implementing new technologies. It was necessary to ensure harmonization of business practices and optimization of operations to improve efficiency and quality. After joining CSG, we focused on modernizing equipment and enhancing production capacities. We introduced robotic lines, CNC lathes for precision machining, and other technological innovations, which improved production and increased quality. A significant part of the transformation was investing in employee training and skill development, which proved essential for success.

What new technologies have been introduced, how do they affect product quality, and are new investments planned?

Among them is a robotic forging line that allows greater precision in the production of metal parts, reduces the possibility of human error, and speeds up the production process. CNC lathes, on the other hand, provide highly precise material processing, which is crucial for meeting strict global industrial standards. They improve quality, reduce production costs, and increase capacity. In the next two years, €24 million will be invested in the “14. Oktobar” factory for the construction of new facilities and infrastructure within the existing factory complex, as well as for the purchase of equipment and devices to increase production capacities. This investment is a key step toward advancing production and technological capabilities of the factory.

The factory plays a significant role in producing parts for civil machinery and military programs. How did you achieve such high quality standards?

High quality standards are achieved through rigorous inspections and compliance with international norms. Our factory uses state-of-the-art technology to produce parts that must be precise and durable, especially when used in military programs. We conduct regular training and strictly monitor quality standards, which helps us maintain demanding requirements.

At the moment, you have a pre-planned delivery schedule for the next three years. What factors enabled you to achieve such a level of trust among business partners?

Our success in reaching this delivery plan is the result of constant investment in product quality and market competitiveness, as well as a highly efficient supply chain. Product quality, the professionalism of our team, and the trust we build with partners have enabled us to secure long-term contracts and delivery plans that currently cover the next three years.

CSG is a global industrial leader, including many well-known companies within the group. What are the advantages of being part of such a large and successful group?

As part of CSG, we gained access to a global network of resources, technologies, and expertise, better negotiating positions with suppliers and customers, as well as broader market access. Through knowledge sharing and technological innovations within the group, we quickly implement the latest industrial standards and best practices.

What are the main business segments of CSG, what is specific about the production of large-caliber ammunition, and how does CSG invest in further development of this segment?

CSG operates in various industries, including engineering, automotive and railway industries, aviation, defense, and the production of small- and large-caliber ammunition. The production of large-caliber ammunition is specific because of the high requirements regarding precision and safety. CSG continuously invests in new production lines, technologies, and company acquisitions that ensure a complete production chain.

This year, CSG celebrates its 30th anniversary. What is the significance of this milestone for the company, and how does it affect future development?

This anniversary is a major milestone for CSG, which has achieved significant growth over three decades and become a global industry leader. We celebrate 30 years of innovation, acquisitions, and expansion, which motivates us to continue investing in new technologies, expanding markets, and developing new products. This anniversary further confirms our position as a reliable partner in the global market.

How do you see the future development of the “14. Oktobar” factory in the coming years, considering global trends in industry and technology?

Considering ongoing innovation and investment in new technologies, the future of the “14. Oktobar” factory is bright. We plan to continue expanding our capacities, introducing new products, and improving efficiency. At the same time, we will continue exploring new market opportunities, both in traditional industries and in new sectors.
